Veterinary Technician (Full-Time)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in patient care and medical treatments, including but not limited to: medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring laboratory samples, catheter placement, processing in-house and reference lab samples, anesthesia monitoring, dental prophy, surgical preparation, hospitalized patient care, critical/emergency care and triage

  • Check in clients, take medical history, obtain patient vital signs

  • Provide compassionate care to patients and clients

  • Able to work patiently with clients and patients in varying emotional states

  • Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner

  • Greet clients and pets by name immediately upon arrival

  • Weigh pet at each visit and record in electronic medical record

  • Answer and address phone calls quickly and in a professional manager; schedule appointments as necessary

  • Record all conversations with clients in the medical record

  • Field questions and inquiries about products and services

  • Provide knowledgeable advice concerning the care and treatment of animals

  • Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns and complaints

  • Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

  • Perform both general and dental radiograph exams per protocol

  • Have a working knowledge of various pharmaceuticals, their usages, dosages, and side effects

  • Fill prescriptions per veterinarian's orders

  • Client education, including but not limited to, preventative care, dental care, and pre and post-surgical care

  • Maintain proper documentation in the electronic medical record

  • Assist in training of new staff and be a positive role model to veterinary assistants and junior staff

  • Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees

  • Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates in Veterinary Technology or equivalent CVT training program preferred but not required

  • High school diploma or G.E.D required

  • At least 2 years experience as a Veterinary Technician

  • Must be able to safely lift at least 50 pounds

  • Basic math and writing skills


Veterinary Assistant (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and Technicians in patient care and medical treatments, including but not limited to: medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring laboratory samples, processing in-house and reference lab samples, critical/emergency care and triage

Receptionist (Full-Time and Part-Time)

Duties and Responsibilites

  • Assist veterinarians and Technicians in patient care and medical treatments, including but not limited to: medication administration, vaccine administration, acquiring laboratory samples, processing in-house and reference lab samples, critical/emergency care and triage

  • Check in clients and obtain patient weights

  • Provide compassionate and friendly care and service to patients and clients

  • Able to work patiently with clients and patients in varying emotional states

  • Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner

  • Greet clients and pets by name immediately upon arrival

  • Answer and address phone calls quickly and in a professional manager; schedule appointments as necessary

  • Record all conversations with clients in the medical record

  • Field questions and inquiries about products and services

  • Provide knowledgeable advice concerning the care and treatment of animals

  • Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns and complaints

  • Have a working knowledge of various pharmaceuticals, their usages, dosages, and side effects

  • Scanning, filing, and faxing of documents and medical records

  • Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees

  • Perform other duties assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D required

  • Previous experience in customer service preferred but willing someone with the right personality

  • Must be able to safely lift at least 50 pounds

  • Basic math and writing skills






Associate and Relief Veterinarians
Duties and Responsibilites

  • Examine animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases and injuries

  • Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medications, setting bones, dressing wounds, performing surgeries, or other therapies

  • Inoculate animals against various diseases

  • Collect body tissues, feces, blood, urine, or other body fluids for examination and analysis

  • Operate diagnostic equipment such as radiograph, and interpret the resulting images

  • Administer anesthetics, perform surgery, and monitor patients during surgery and recovery with the assistance of the technical team

  • Answer client questions and provide education on various aspects of animal care and treatment; advise animal owners regarding sanitary measures, feeding, and general care necessary to promote health of their pets

  • Call back/follow up with clients; recommend medical progress visits when appropriate

  • Humanely euthanize animals when it has been mutually agreed up on by the patient's owner

  • Work with clients and employees in a manner that is sensitive, tact, and professional

  • Provide guidance and leadership to the healthcare team that will positively influence the level of care and service provided to the clients and patients

  • Participate in business development as instructed by management and/or ownership

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed in the State of New Jersey

  • Must qualify for a DEA license

  • Must have knowledge, principles, theories, and practices of veterinary medicine and science.
